Thanks to the Mexico Flu hysteria, J osiah is not in school. The virus has not even been documented in Oklahoma, but J ason wanted to take precautions. I’ve been bad about not getting anything – and I do mean anything – accomplished during the day. J osiah and A dam have had me at wit’s end – J osiah with his incessant chattering and A dam the Energizer bunny – so I keep waiting and waiting for them to get their nap... which they have mostly been refusing, despite eye-rubbings by 10am. I spend nap time trying to recoup my nerves – who wants to work during that? And then they are awake again and it starts all over.
I’ve been motivated to re-focus on the kids so I am going to start home-schooling J osiah and A dam. Hopefully we will be able to keep it up long enough for it to be a habit this summer. I’m wanting to work toward certain goals for each of the boys: For J osiah, shoe-tying, learning letter sounds, learn letter sounds, and count money; for A dam, writing his name, drawing a circle, square, rectangle, and triangle, and learning to use scissors. I also want to have a weekly project to work on together: for instance, making a piƱata for D akota’s birthday, leaf rubbings on a nature walk, baking cookies together, etc.
As long as I can keep myself off the computer and A dam off the TV, we should be ok.
