I went to the dr again yesterday on my lunch break. I turned down the AFP test and a screening to see if I'm a carrier for cystic fibrosis. The AFP test has only a 65% accuracy rate, and since I'm not worrying about anything now, why possibly give myself something to worry about that may not be a problem? And with Cystic fibrosis, I dunno, I'm just not incredibly worried. If something comes up, I'll deal with it, but in the mean time, why give myself a nervous breakdown? So anyway, that's probably why I didn't have to have my blood taken then. My dr checked how big I am, and we listened to the baby's heartbeat (160 bpm, down from 170 a month ago) and she told me I had only gained 5 lbs, and that's a safe amount. We talked for a little bit and then I went back to work.
My mom went with me to Natural Lullabies today for an early pregnancy seminar/class. We were the only ones there. Melissa (the owner) went over things to expect in the classes, and talked about nutrition and exercise. She said I could go ahead and take the May class, since I'm due late July and if I started classes in March or April I'd miss a lot of classes because of night classes at TCC. Then we went to eat at T.G.I.Friday's and she bought a few unisex clothes items for the baby at Babies R Us. I'm ready to go to sleep now.
