Yesterday was one of those nuisance days you just want to avoid.
I had planned to get up at 6am to take a shower before going to my interning, but I was too tired. Skipped it and got up at 7. Jason said he could take the kids for his mom to watch, so I could stay home long enough to actually eat breakfast. Nice offer, but nothing ever goes as planned. 15 or so minutes after I left, as I'm getting off the highway 5 minutes from my ending point, I had to call Jason to tell him he needed to take milk to his mom. I took both cooler bags with me - the empty one for me to use at my interning, and the one with two bags of milk that was supposed to go with Jason. Meanwhile, he was already irritated - he was late taking Prince D to school and had forgotten the diaper bag at home and had to go back to take it to his mom anyway. Neither of us had a good start.
Broke up a shoving match between two boys in my class in the cafeteria line. Twice. At the end of lunch, a different boy in my class put applesauce in his friends hair, and then claimed he "didn't know" it was on the bottom of his tray. At the end of the day, that same kid gave me three hugs. Same one that was driving me nuts all day talking to me and whining that he needed help on his work that he wasn't even bothering to try on. Like, a test.
Both of the babies are sick now: Prince J's got a really bad cough that cough medicine hasn't seemed to help any, and its a struggle to get him to eat. We did get him to eat some chicken noodle soup yesterday - sans soup. He'll constantly ask to nurse, so at least he's getting that.
Prince A has gotten Prince J's cough. His nose is stuffed up and his chest congested and when he starts coughing he sounds like he's choking. We took him to urgent care last night to be checked. The dr said his lungs and heart sounded good, he's probably getting a cold, but at this point she's not finding anything she can treat. Hopefully he'll get better, not worse, because Jason's insurance ran out at midnight from his work being bought out, We don't know when the new insurance really goes into effect. Hopefully before Prince A's next check.
We went to walmart and Jason ran in and bought a humidifier. Prince J kept asking for Da-eee every time he saw a guy walk by. He set it up by the playpen for Prince J and Prince J and I took a shower together. I nursed him and after he was dry and held by Jason for a while he passed out. I went to bed with Prince A around midnight.
At 3am Prince A's coughing was getting bad again, so I told Jason I thought Prince Ashould be upright. So we got me set up in our couch's recliner and Jason moved the humidifier between the playpen and couch. I had him put vicks on my chest for Prince A to be able to breathe in. I think that and saline in his nose helped jhis breathing some. Don't know yet about the humidifier - the livingroom and dinig room may be too big for it to have any effect.
