Prince J actually took 2 longish naps yesterday. We are going back to cosleeping. The emotional and psychological stress to both Prince J and myself is not worth it ith him sleeping in the playpen. He went to sleep fine yesterday, but then woke up later and cried for an hour and a half, on and off. Hard. By the time I got out to the living room to rescue him, he gave up on calling for me and started asking for my mom. We've coslept a few times in the last week and I feel perfectly safe having them both in bed together - on opposite sides of me, or at least a huge space between them. Cosleeping makes all of us happier. Jason's happy because he doesn't have to listen to screaming (we've only been having issues with crying a LOT since Prince J has been forced to sleep alone) . Prince J's happy because I'm right there with him, and I'm happy because it's just cozy. I fall asleep smiling. I nursed him to sleep for his first nap yesterday and put him on our bed. He woke up an hour or so later, less than thrilled about being left. He fell asleep in the playpen alone for his second nap, but before he gave in and laid down, I caught him with his stuffed dog tucked under one arm, and pretending to give the dog a drink of water from his sippy cup. I was too late to get a picture of it, but I got a picture of him pretending to feed the dog a cracker crumb.
He slept for about an hour and a half.
Prince D stayed at King J's mom's house tonight for a slumber party with the cousins. I hung around for just a little while and took a few pictures
Things to notice:
1. Austin is maybe 2 inches shorter than me.
2. Maddy is maybe 4 inches shorter than D.
3. HUGE stairstep difference between Austin, Alexis, and D. C was born halfway between Austin & Alexis's birthdays, and is halfway between their heights.
This is not an optical illusion. J comes about to Maddy's shoulders. She's 15 months older than him.
J and A went with me to my mom's house (King J worked - triple pay=$31/hr!) and mostly just hung out with the foster kids while my mom took a much-needed nap. Then I ran back to King J's mom's to pick up their crib. They were getting rid of it and Jennifer needed one. Jessica was wanting us all to play Clue or Monopoly, but the rest of us had our hands full of babies (A and Noah needed feeding, and J needed to be put to sleep) and she decided to send herself to bed around 10. So Jennifer and I watched Someone Like You while my mom slept again on the loveseat. Then Kyle & Valerie came back from visiting one of Kyle's friends from college, and we had some sparkling white grape juice. I'm not much for white, but it was alright. Not a spectacular night, but ok.
Got home and it took about an hour of watching a Christian version of the Baby Einstein videos (actually I prefer this kind - the Baby Einstein puppet freaks me out a bit.. it's creepy) to get J to pass out on the couch.
