life

Tonight was exciting. I guess. I had all intentions of King J and Prince D helping me with house cleaning once they got home this evening, but when I went to go put some stuff in the bathroom, I noticed there was a couple of inches of dirty water in the tub. I thought I had just forgotten to pull the plug after a shower with Prince A the other day. So I stuck my fingers in the drain - no plug. Yuck. I told King J to look at it, he determined it was sewage and had me turn off the washing machine. He called his brother for suggestions, tried pumping the tub drain with the plunger, no luck. He and Prince D ended up going to Home Depot and renting a machine to clear out the pipes through the roof. King J ended up getting a big ball of roots out of the pipes; apparently it got twined onto the tube he stuck down. So, that's fixed, now I just have a nasty ring of sewage around the tub.

Oh, I witnessed a miracle tonight. An actual, bonafide (he's a suitor!) miracle. Here, I'll show you a picture. View it and weep!

Amazing, huh? The picture doesn't really show the true miracle. That's the part where Prince J put himself to bed. Completely. He played around for a while after Prince D had gone to bed, and then went in there to talk to Prince D. I checked on them a few minutes later to make sure that's where Prince J was. When I stuck my head in to ask Prince D if Prince J was in there, Prince J told me "I go night-night." I said, "Oh, ok, night-night Prince J." Apparently he meant it. I did adjust him a little bit to make him more comfortable. Here's what he looked like before.

I seem to have an abscess at the base of one of my molars. This tooth hates me, I've decided. It's hated me for years. First the gaping cavity, which the first dentist refused to do anything with - crowned a different cavity, taking advantage of the fact that my mom wasn't allowed to be back there with me. Oh yeah, he also told me to grow up (I was scared and in a ton of pain besides the cavity). GREAT children's dentist, let me tell you. When I finally got to the point of begging (again) to go to a (different) dentist, I had to have a root canal. Then, two years ago, I broke my crown off, as well as a bit of the actual tooth. I had a bump at the base of the tooth then, but I can't remember if I asked about it and didn't get a real answer, or if I forgot to ask about it. I did mean to, either way.

So, here we are. A molar right behind this tooth finally came all the way through the gum, and after the last bit of gum pulled away from that tooth, the very next day I started having problems with swelling at this tooth. It's been at least a month and a half now. I just haven't had any real time to go to the dentist. I've got classes Monday and Tuesday, interning Wednesday, all this month I've had weekend classes, and all the days in between I'm having to find a way to prepare for the next week and manage to have clean clothes and dishes besides. It's been hectic, to say the least. And it is spreading. The swelling is off and on, but once the swelling comes down a little from the surrounding areas, the bump is a little bigger. At the beginning of last week, it was starting to swell under my jaw at that lymph node. It's not swollen there now, but it is very tight across that area of skin. Now, it's swelling behind that tooth, so the back end of my jaw is swollen and puffy. You know, the weird puffy feeling that you are aware of without touching it. Kind of tingly. And from this evening, I've noticed the ligament between my upper and lower jaw on that side seems to also be swollen, since I'm not able to open my mouth as widely as before.

I NEED to go to the dentist. Until then, I need to be able to function with everything else. I was talking to Mrs. Savage (our pastor's wife, for the unknowing) about it this morning, and she offered me a bottle of colloidal silver that their family uses. Unlike antibiotics, it doesn't destroy the flora in your body. It works against viral, bacterial, and fungal issues. It can be used as drops for an ear infection, topically for a scrape, or taken orally. It's a mixture of pure silver and sterilized water. She said they've used it for years and have had a lot of success with it. Their grandson had a lot of medical problems, including grand mal seizures. She said that in the several months that they have had him staying with them, they have been giving him this and he has only had one seizure. So I'm taking my 1/2 teaspoon 4x a day in hopes that it will help the infection and tide me over until I have an opportunity to go to a dentist. I'm also giving a little to Prince A to help with his cold, and maybe we can stop having to go on antibiotics twice a month.

Speaking of Prince A, he's come looking for me.
