..tired..

I've been moving all day, from one medical issue to the next.

J got a dog bite today over his left eye. My sister-in-law's dog was lying on the floor chewing on a toy, and J laid down next to him and reached towards the toy. He got three stitches.

Went to lunch with my mom and the boys. Left there to pick up J's antibiotic and go to D/A's dr appt. Yeah, all 3 boys in one day. D had gotten a gash on his hand Friday, that his other family didn't bother to clean until yesterday. Last night he was saying he was dizzy and nauseated so we thought he had an infection. Dr said not infected, but if it had been seen earlier it probably could have used some stitches. D was happy to avoid them. Had him look over A, said they are absolutely not normal bruises, most kids get bruises on just their shins and A's are all over. So A and I went to St. Francis for a blood draw, and had my mom meet us there. It took at least 45 minutes to get his blood drawn! The first poke, A reached over and grabbed at the needle, blowing his vein and giving him a nice subdermal bruise! And they didn't get the amount of blood they needed. So they tried the other arm, moving the needle in and out, moving it around... couldn't get any blood. Back to the first arm... because of the bruise, all of the blood they got out was filled with clots. So a fourth stick to his second arm, my mom praying for the blood to come easily, and they finally got a vial. Add to this that A is uncooperative and incredibly aggressive, and you can imagine how I'm feeling right now. OH - and because of all of his screaming and the stress, now his FACE is covered in those red dots! He looks like a very freckledy boy. It's all over his forearms, too.

I haven't decided whether I'm going to work tomorrow. On the one hand, I really want to stay with the boys since they had just a rough day today. On the other hand, it's the last week of school, and I've only got 2 more days to get papers home to the parents.. and the director is trying to close my room down for the summer, which means moving my kids to the other 3 classrooms, which in turn means further confusing the parents of the kids we've taken in from the FIRST room that was closed. It's a weird method, and I'm not crazy about it. So I just don't know if I'm going to go tomorrow or not.

On the upside, my bike trailer came in today! Yay! Now I just need new back brake pads on my bike...
