Had my 2nd appointment today. Apparently I've lost a lb by their scale (111 last appt, 110 this) which strange since I've got up 9 lbs from what I weighed before I got pregnant, by my scale (104.5 then, 113 this morning before the appt). The dr. isn't concerned about it. She said Jason should be able to feel the baby kicking in a couple of weeks, usually by 22 (I'm 18 now) She also said she doesn't deliver 24 hours a day, she delivers day births Monday through Friday - I don't remember what she said about evenings and weekends, but if it's a medical issue then she will come for those. She's a single mom of 4 boys, so it's understandable that she does it this way. She offers elective inductions, but I said I wasn't interested because I didn't like being inducted with Josiah. I'd like to just ride this out as long as I can.
The baby's heartrate was 153. I don't know if the nurse has trouble finding it in general, or if its just this baby, because she had a difficult time finding it both this appointment and last. It would have made me nervous this time except I was feeling the baby early-early this morning so I wasn't thinking there was a problem. I was nervous at the first appointment because I had been reading horror stories online where people posted about finding out they had miscarried. So it was especially good to hear the heartbeat at the first appointment.
I showed Josiah how to use a sippy cup for drinking and not as a chew toy! At first he only wanted me to hold the cup and would throw a fit if I tried to get him to hold it. After a while I just set it on the ground and left it. He picked it up with the spout away from him and tried to drink.. then got mad at me when I tried to turn the spout around for him! But I finally got him picking it up right:
Josiah and I are going to go swim now, we haven't been in the pool in at least a week, maybe two.
